Ms. Mary Taylor – Reading Resource

Office Hours: Reading Grades K-3, Wednesday 2:45-3:15pm

Kindergarten November Web Update 2022

It is a great time to read about the Pilgrims and Thanksgiving. Please read every day!  My extra help is Wednesday from 2:45-3:15.

We will review letters, and sight words in Reading. We dictate letters, decodable words, and a sentence to students.  Then the students write down the letters, words and sentence as a part of their daily practice.  This month we are beginning word families.  We are reading decodable readers that include sight words and the sounds we’ve learned.

We are beginning Topic 12 in Math. The students will identify and describe shapes.  They will learn if a shape is flat or solid and be able to describe circles, triangles, squares, rectangles, and hexagons.  Students will describe shapes they see in the environment and be precise about their positions.  We will analyze two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes.

We will begin a chapter on Motion in Science.  They will learn the difference between position and motion.  Students will review cause and effect when they study what makes objects move. A push or pull makes those objects move.  Objects can move fast or slowly.

God Bless You!
