Welcome to the St. Stanislaus Music Room! Students have been busy working on basic music theory and applying that knowledge to various instruments.

In K – 2nd grade students are working on rhythms and basic notation with boomwhackers, bells and percussion instruments. The students are also working on hymns for Mass and other special events.

In 3rd and 4th grade the students are busy learning musical fundamentals such as reading notations, time signatures, the structure of the staff and some basic chord forms. Students continue to work with their recorders each week and are studying from the Recorder Express method book.

In 5th and 6th grade we are working with the Ukuleles and learning new chords and rhythms. With the Ukuleles students are working on a few songs such as, Here Comes the Sun and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. In both 5th and 6th grade we are continuing our work on basic music theory and application.

In 7th grade we are working on basic music theory with application on percussion instruments. With the Bells we are working on scales, intervals and some ear training. We are also having an introduction to the Ukulele and working on hymns for Mass and other special events.

In 8th Grade students are working on basic music theory with application on the recorder. The 8th grade students will also be working on scales, intervals and some ear training on the various instruments in the classroom. We will be introducing the Ukulele and learning chord structures with the instrument.

All students have been very working hard and I am proud of what they have achieved so far.
